Board of Directors

Meet The FDC Board of Directors

We are thankful to the FDC board of directors, who contribute their time, talent and energy to help further our mission

Kristina Barclay

Kristina has been a member of the FDC since 2013. She grew up in central Massachusetts, where her father always had a large garden that his three kids were expected to help plant, weed and pick. The FDC has been a great way for Kristina to share her love of fresh produce with her husband and two kids, and she is excited to become more involved in the organization.

Liz Bradt

Liz Bradt has been a member of the FDC since 1999! Professionally, she is the owner and founder of all Creatures Veterinary Hospital in Salem, MA. Dr. Bradt graduated from Wellesley College in 1982 with a BA in Biology. She received her veterinary degree from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 and has a special interest in avian and exotic animal medicine. Dr. Bradt enjoys hiking, yoga, gardening, and spending time with her husband Bart, children Ben and Becca, and her dogs, Charlie and Porter.

Pattye Comfort

Pattye, a native “north of Boston,” joined the co-op shortly after moving to Marblehead in 2003.  Her love of organic, local food was born in the early 1980s when the communal household she lived in during college belonged to a food co-op located near St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Brighton.  Since then, she has belonged to a co-op in nearly all the places she has lived and has loved sustaining herself and her family this way.  She is trained as an attorney and has spent her career working for non-profit, mission driven organizations.  As a board member, she is excited to put her non-profit experience and legal skills to work on behalf of the FDC.

STEVE FOWLER

Steve drove the truck for the Coop’s Western route for nearly a decade.   After taking a step back to spend more time with family, he has decided to join our board. On summer weekends, he manages the Marblehead Farmers Market.   In the winter months he can be found on the slopes with his son Emmett. Cabbage is one of the vegetables he gets most excited about.  He is always excited to talk about the endless possibilities.  Be it Braised, Fermented. Fresh. Boiled or otherwise.  The Coop also introduced him to the Crimson Crisp Apple, which is a family favorite.

Meet Sarah – coming soon

Kimberly Hopkins

Kim has been a member of the FDC since she and her husband moved to Salem from Portland, Oregon in 2019, and she loves all of the beautiful produce the FDC provides! She is looking forward to being a member of the Board and working with the team to help keep the FDC running smoothly. When she isn’t cooking FDC produce in the kitchen, she is probably in the garden fussing over some lovely FDC plants. She loves putting those fruits and veggies to work in the kitchen by creating sparkly ferments or spicy pickles to help preserve them all year long. Pulling out a jar of fermented salsa from the depths of the fridge in the dead of winter is pure joy!

Richard Katzman

Richard has lived in Marblehead for over 25 years and has been a member of the FDC for 12 years. He is entering his 3rd year as Treasurer. (Thank you Tamara) Richard is a big fan of the fruit shares and hopes as he matures, he will eventually feel the same about the vegetable shares as well. Richard shares his wife’s passion for giving back to the community and are big supporters of the FDC and its mission to support local farmers. Richard is a business consultant with a focus on advising family-owned businesses and is a partner at Pathway Advisors.

Lynne Krasker Shultz

Lynne Krasker Schultz currently resides in Swampscott with her husband, Eugene, two children who love volunteering at FDC, and her furry companion Oreo. Prior to joining the Marblehead Depot, Lynne lived in Wakefield and was a longtime member of the Melrose Depot. She currently serves as the Executive Director of SPUR, Inc., a small nonprofit on the North Shore that focuses on connecting people to volunteer opportunities that meet tangible needs in the community.

Kristin Thorp

Kristin has lived in Melrose with her family  for over 30 years, although she is originally from Minnesota. She has a business degree, but spent most of her professional life in the technology field. Currently, Kristin is the ED of a nonprofit in Melrose, SDM Foundation, where they provide free lessons in any area of technology. She was thrilled to become more involved in FDC as it is an organization she strongly supports, and in 2023 is the President.
