SALEM ALLIANCE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT (SAFE)
The Salem Alliance for the Environment (SAFE) is a group dedicated to assuring that Salem, a historical maritime community located on Massachusetts’ North Shore, is a healthy and prosperous place in which to live.
The food drive Melrose
The Food Drive is a community-driven nonprofit based in Melrose that provides grassroots, hyperlocal solutions to hunger and food waste. Alongside over 120 volunteers, The Food Drive recovers food that would have been discarded and delivers it to local pantries, programs, and people experiencing need. Founded in November 2020, The Food Drive has distributed over 375,000 pounds (185 tons) of food, which translates to $629,000 in value and 925,000 pounds (463 tons) of greenhouse gas emissions prevented.
